Important Resources: Farming Guide
This is one of the most important topics for your success in the game, as here we will discuss "Farming" (the act of hunting monsters to accumulate resources), which is the foundation for leveling up and equipping your character on The Classic Midnight L2 server.
Below, we detail the three main currencies of the game, how they work, and where to get them.
1. Adena
Adena is the main and most basic currency in the game. It will be the engine of your early progression and is used for absolutely everything in the initial stages: buying potions, Soulshots (items that increase your attack damage), starting Grade equipment, receiving buffs from NPCs, and paying teleport fees.
Where and how to get Adena? You can get Adena by defeating practically all monsters in the game, from level 1 to the maximum level. However, the amount of Adena you receive depends on some vital rules that every beginner needs to understand:
- Monsters of your level: This is the ideal situation. Monsters with a level close to yours will drop the perfect amount of Adena. In addition, the risk of your character dying is lower and the time to defeat them is fast, making farming much more efficient.
- Higher level monsters: The higher the monsters level compared to your character, the more Adena it will drop. However, they are much harder to kill.
- Lower level monsters: If the monster has a level much lower than your characters, the drop penalty comes into play, and it will drop less and less Adena, until it drops nothing at all.
- Advanced Areas: End-game farming areas, such as the Monastery of Silence and Chaotic Zone, usually yield a massive amount of Adena, but the recommended level to hunt in these locations is 78 or higher.
Special Server Rules for Adena:
- Auto Farm System: Using the automatic system reduces Adena gain by 30%. This is a measure to value and reward the player who is actively farming manually (online).
- VIP Benefit: Players with VIP status receive a 20% bonus to all Adena farming.
2. Ancient Adena
Ancient Adena is an advanced currency. It becomes the most sought-after resource when you reach the point of looking for A-Grade items. To craft A-Grade and S-Grade items, as well as buy PvP (Player vs Player) oriented consumables, you will necessarily need to accumulate this currency.
Where and how to get Ancient Adena? Unlike regular Adena, Ancient Adena does not drop directly from monsters. You need to hunt inside Catacombs and Necropolises.
In these underground locations, monsters drop sealed stones called Seal Stones. Your goal is to collect these stones and exchange them for Ancient Adena. Important: For monsters to drop stones, the difference between your level and the monsters level cannot be greater than 10 levels. Also, go well-equipped, as monsters in these areas have more health and attack power.
Seal Stones Conversion Values:
Red Seal Stone: Can be converted into 7 Ancient Adena each.
Green Seal Stone: Can be converted into 5 Ancient Adena each.
Blue Seal Stone: Can be converted into 3 Ancient Adena each.
How to exchange Seal Stones:
To turn your stones into usable coins, follow this step-by-step:
- Go to the city of Giran and talk to the NPC GM Shop Umbriel.
- In the NPC menu, click on the Consumables tab.
- Then, select the Merchant option.
- You will see the conversion list. Simply click on the Ancient Adena icon that matches the color of the Seal Stone you have in your inventory to make the exchange.
3. Midnight Coin
Midnight Coin is considered the ultimate (end-game) currency of The Classic Midnight L2 server. It is the most valuable resource and is exclusively required to craft the coveted S-Grade supreme items.
Where and how to get Midnight Coin? Because it is a top-tier resource, there are only two maps on the server where you can acquire it:
- Monastery of Silence
- Chaotic Zone
Requirements for Farming:
To venture into these locations and succeed in collecting Midnight Coins, your character must be at least level 75 and already fully equipped with A-Grade items. Trying to enter these areas without this preparation will result in quick deaths and loss of efficiency.
