Beginner’s Guide — The Classic L2
Welcome to The Classic L2, a classic, challenging, and strategic MMORPG where decisions matter and progression is built step by step. This guide is for new players or anyone who wants to revisit the basics.
1. Races and Classes
When you start, you choose a race:
- Humans: balanced offense and defense.
- Elves: high speed and a focus on water/light magic.
- Dark Elves: high physical and magical damage, with lower durability.
- Orcs: raw strength, melee-focused, with spiritual support.
- Dwarves: specialized in crafting and spoil for materials.
Character growth follows the class transfer system, reaching the 3rd class around level 76.
2. Class Transfer
- 1st transfer: level 20
- 2nd transfer: level 40
- 3rd transfer: level 76
3. How to Level Up
Levels 1 to 20
- hunt near your starting town.
Levels 20 to 40
- After your 1st transfer, look for areas such as:
- Abandoned Camp
- Orc Barracks
- Cruma Marshlands
Levels 40 to 60
- Prioritize group farming in:
- Cruma Tower
- Execution Grounds
- Outlaw Forest
Level 60+
- Focus on group spots:
- Forest of Mirrors
- The Cemetery
- Varka Silenos / Ketra Orcs
- Prepare for your 3rd class transfer.
4. Gear and Adena
- Gear can come from drops, crafting, or trading with other players.
- Learn how to use spoil to obtain materials.
- Always compare prices before buying to avoid losses.
5. Support and Party Play
- Playing in a group speeds up progression and improves survivability.
- Joining a clan helps with support and competitive content.
6. PvP, PK, and Karma
- PvP is open in the world, but killing “innocent” players generates karma (PK).
- Karma increases the risk of dropping items on death.
- Conflicts are common in contested areas: bosses and farming spots.
7. Clans and Wars
- Clans provide organization, support, and access to wars and castles.
- Clan leveling requires active members and reputation.
- Participating in Sieges and Clan Wars helps you stand out.
8. Bosses and Raids
- There are bosses for smaller groups and larger raids.
- Rewards may include jewelry, weapons, and skill books.
- Expect competition: respawns may be fixed or have a random window.
9. Final Tips
- Use Soulshots or Spiritshots to boost your damage.
- Don’t try to do everything alone: L2 rewards group play.
- Spend Adena carefully in the early levels.
